History: Omen was born into a middle class family on Nubia in BBY48. His father and grandfather both worked in Industrial Automation. He rarely spoke of his childhood, except that his father was very knowledgeable and taught him everything he knew about engineering, technology, and philosophy. At the age of 19, he set out to "seek his fortune" in the galaxy, as his father had done. However, he found travel to his liking, and did not return to his home often. He became friends with Gale, head of security for a military organization. He eventually took over this job, often leading covert ops. Omen new he was somewhat different, because he had the tendency to correctly "guess" how certain situations would turn out. His superior (known only by his title, the Admiral) quickly noticed his ability to evade impossible situations, which led to the discovery that he was force-sensitive. The Admiral was thrilled to have such a bodyguard, and swiped some Jedi files and tools for him. Omen became quite skilled with the force, always using it for the good of his friends.

Philosophy: Omen strongly believed that the mind should govern the heart and the body. To follow ones feelings or heart, could only end in pain, while to follow the mind was to write ones future. Omen never wanted to join the Jedi Order. He believed that their ideology was fundamentally flawed, to the point of setting up the practitioner for defeat.

For example, to "feel", instead of think, leads one to follow one's feelings or passions: the path to the Dark Side. The only way to break this is to subdue one's passions, or more bluntly, to stop "feeling." But the practitioner rarely ever could because, even as a Jedi, had been taught to "feel" and not to think about thinking.

Omen believed that, since the mind controlled the emotions, they (including hate) were not fundamentally wrong. That which is evil is to be despised and destroyed. He believed righteous anger was necessary, and the thought of ATTACKING, wounding, and killing someone who deserved it, did not bother him in the least.

He considered the Jedi to be so political and diplomatic, that in theory they would parlay with the Sith before they would destroy them. In many cases he would even be so outspoken as to think of the Jedi as gutless when they would not destroy evil or enforce justice.
